Maumere, SANPUKAT News- Students from SDK ILI discuss the issue of child trafficking. The discussion on child trafficking was facilitated by Tutor SANPUKAT for Finsensia Emifrida’s KINDERMISSION activities, Wednesday (4/02/2023).
The SANPUKAT tutor revealed that there were many cases of child trafficking in every region. Therefore, children must be given knowledge about child trafficking so that children can protect themselves from criminal acts.
“At this time, cases of trafficking in children began to appear in society. This problem puts children in danger. Therefore, children must be given knowledge about child trafficking. This knowledge can help children to protect themselves. During the discussion regarding child trafficking, children know that the factors that cause child trafficking include: economic pressure, the status of children as the result of an affair, the desire to buy children for families who do not have children, and the sale of organs,” said Finsensia Emifrida.
Meanwhile, activity participant Maria Natalia revealed that knowledge about child trafficking is a strength for children. Children can protect themselves when interacting with others.
“Knowledge about child trafficking made me aware to be more careful in my interactions. I will keep my distance from strangers. I don’t want to be kidnapped,” said one of the SDK Ili students.
The discussion on child trafficking was attended by seventeen students. The students were divided into three groups namely the rose, jasmine, and orchid groups. Each group discussed the theme of child trafficking. Next, each group presented the results of their discussion to the SANPUKAT Tutor and activity participants.
